Marni Mondays: Individualistic
Photography by Patrick Demarchelier from Vogue, April 2009.
As PC creeps upon its 1st birthday {early January} todays post is a little history behind the Marni brand. The brands Voguepedia page has a timeline which some might find interesting, you can also check out other brands/people. "Superbly individualistic" is how Vogue referred to the brand in a 2007 article. Perfectly put. Marni suggests something unconventional without trying too hard through various prints, textures and structures. There is a whimsical feeling seen in most designs, which is just an added bonus. Consuelo Castiglioni, thank you for being you and for creating such a beautiful and expressive brand. Please don't ever stop.
Harmony
Coco Rocha in the December 2012 issue of Vogue Mexico. There is no better word to describe this shoot, harmony. NYC fashion editor Sarah Gore-Reeves did a brilliant job at marrying the different prints and textures. Photographed by the great David Roemer.
Backgrounds
Illustrations created by Russian artist Anna Lazareva. Love. Most of Anna's fashion illustrations have these whimsical backgrounds which PC adores. The second print would be adorable as iPad cover or perhaps for the iPad mini. Be sure to check our her work on Behance.net.
