Peter Pilotto for Target
So of course I am all over this collaboration by Peter Pilotto and Target. The prints are bold and loud. The fact that the different patterns can be worn together is awesome. To get that right and have it look good is a job well done in my opinion. Congrats Peter Pilotto. Here are my favorites.
Aligned
Working out is so important not just physically, but mentally. I use to be such a work-out queen and really want to get back into it. Not to mention I am fortunate to live in Los Angeles which has some great hiking spots. Activewear and gear has been evolving for years with brands coming out with fun designs and creations. Lululemon and GapFit are among the favorites. Recently I was browsing the Anthropologie website and saw their activewear which is insanely cute with great prints. Not surprising as it's Anthropologie. You can even find a yoga mat that looks like a magic carpet! Even if you are breaking a sweat, you can still be stylish.
Marni Mondays: Lovesick
It's clear of my love for Marni, but after viewing the pre-fall 2014 collection on Moda Operandi it's at a whole new level. Did not even know that was possible. The tunic dresses are fantastic with such wicked shapes, not to mention fabulous prints. Now, there is a lot of fur being shown here, so let's get one thing clear I am not in favor of the material being used but rather the shape and style of the collars. These are just a couple of my favorites, but you must view the entire collection here. Have a great week!
Funky Feet
I remember back when I was a little one slip-ons never seemed fashionable. Over the years they have become so much more. High end designers creating them, wacky patterns and different textures. The right pair can make a simple casual outfit have a little more pep. I love the slip-ons Vans and Kenzo collaborated on. In fact, I recently saw a fashionable mother at Whole Foods wearing them. She paired them with some boyfriend jeans, a white tee and a nice chunky sweater. The color were muted, but the sneakers just made the outfit. Almost like how jewelry can add the perfect touch to a look. Super cute! Here are some of my favorites from Nordstroms. Which pair are you adding to your wish list? Have a great weekend.
Heres To You!
"What people say isn't going to stop me. I have to do things for myself." - Kate Moss. What's not to love? This woman is bright, tough, quirky, stunning, vulnerable, elegant, creative, influential, the list could gone on. And I've never even met Moss! She has changed the way we look at fashion, design and advertising. Even at the age of 40 she is gorgeous, her style is effortless. One of my favorite Moss ads from the 90s Calvin Klein ad with Mark Wahlberg. The campaign got people talking about the 'heroin chic' look and the fact that the topless model straddled the actor. What's your favorite Kate Moss campaign? Heres to you Kate and all your success. Keep creating. Happy Birthday!
